Resource Management Planner

Our workload is increasing, and we are looking for a Planner or Senior Planner to join our team!

Avanzar Consulting Ltd is a specialised resource management planning and traffic engineering consultancy with offices in both Christchurch and Timaru. We work for both private and public sector clients, large and small, and enjoy a wide variety of work.

We offer a flexible, family friendly, working environment, payment of professional fees, provision of a cellphone, laptop and equipment as required and a pleasant office space in Sir William Pickering Drive in Burnside, Christchurch. We also have a work from home policy, which allows our staff the convenience and flexibility to work from home for agreed periods. We would also be interested in hearing from planners based elsewhere, who may wish to work with us on a remote basis.

We would be happy to hear from planners who want to work either full time or on a part time basis and can arrange for flexible working hours to suit the right person.

We are interested in hearing from potential staff with the following attributes:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and a keen interest in one or more of the planning related fields
  • For more senior roles, experience in all or some of the facets of resource management planning would be beneficial – such as urban/rural planning, consenting, submissions, infrastructure, plan changes, environmental/regional planning, policy and strategy, for example, but for graduate positions we understand that you have to start somewhere, and we are therefore keen to hear from graduates that seek to gain experience in a small, well organised and innovative consultancy.
  • Experience in the delivery of evidence in a hearing situation would be an advantage
  • A strong scientific background would assist,
  • Project management skills,

  • Outstanding time management and problem-solving skills,
  • A commitment to accuracy,
  • Proven technical ability,
