On registration day for the American Planning Conference in Denver, we did a bit of exploring on our way to register. We visited the Colorado History Centre, where we learnt about Colorado’s history and it’s people. It was a great spot, with excellent interactive displays, clear descriptions and explanations, and impressive exhibits and treasures.
This gorgeous little heritage building is sandwiched between skyscrapers in downtown Denver, but now houses the rather wonderful Museum of Western Art. We enjoyed a visit here yesterday, and thought it displayed the art beautifully. It was well worth the long walk there and back from our accommodation. It’s so nice to see heritage buildings like this one being recognised, cared for, and with an appropriate and ongoing use. We also explored some of the 16th St Mall in downtown, which is currently being renovated in a rather significant way! Inspiring stuff!
