Laura and Mary were happy to discover that one of the opportunities available to them at the American National Planning Conference in Denver was attending a Denver Avalanche vs Calgary Flames Ice Hockey game with a group of conference attendees at the Ball Arena in central Denver. While Laura has attended Ice Hockey games in NZ, it will be Mary’s first Ice Hockey experience – rather different from her many visits to Lancaster Park for the Rugby or Cricket, and a far cry from attending the Cricket at the Hagley Oval or Rugby at Apollo Projects Stadium in Christchurch. Apparently, the Ball Arena is multi use, with the ice remaining underneath a floor that can be quickly changed for concerts, NBA games or NLA (Lacrosse!) games
